For the last eight months our EndoSan product manager Paul Walsh has been in training for the National Three Peaks Challenge, raising money on behalf of The Christie Hospital. In the early hours of Saturday 16th September Paul and his team put that training into practice and completed the challenge!
The aim was to climb Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon in 24 hours, Paul and his team managed this feat in 23 hours and 59 minutes including travel. The achievement is made even more impressive by the team managing to raise over £5000 for Manchester Cancer hospital The Christie.
Paul had the following to say about his experience:
“Individually these mountains would have been tough, but three in a row took us to the edge of exhaustion! Ben Nevis was harder than we expected and took a lot longer, but we all said Scafell was the toughest.”
“You try and get as much rest as you can on the journeys in between, but with five men in a van it is impossible to get any quality rest. We tried to eat and rehydrate but no-one was hungry.”
“Even with around eight months preparation and training nothing can prepare you for this and the way that we did it. It was a truly proud moment in my life that I will never forget.”
As a business we are all very proud of Paul and his achievement and happy to have contributed to his fund raising for such a worthy cause. Donations are still accepted via the teams JustGiving page.
